Talking to your doctor

Talking to your doctor is really important but it can be difficult because you only get a short time with your GP and it can feel overwhelming remembering what you want to talk about and what you want to know.

Talking about medication can also be a mindfield because there is so much you will want and need to know and there may be some things that you feel worried about asking about like how will this medication affect things in my daily life like can I drink with this medication? Or how will it affect my sex life?

For more info on talking to your Doctor have a look at Doc Ready which helps you get ready for the first time you visit a doctor to discuss your mental health. It's another of the Innovation Labs projects and we know them so well so do take a look as the resource is really helpful.
